Bio
My journey into the world of comics started with a well-worn 35-cent copy of Amazing Spider-Man #176 in 1978. From there, my obsession with sequential art took root, and I began copying my favorite artists like George Perez, John Byrne, and Jim Starlin. Fast forward a few years, and I landed my first professional gig inking over Ben Edlund’s pencils for The Tick series at New England Comics. That kickstarted a career that’s taken me through some of the most beloved titles in the industry.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some amazing titles over the years, including:
The Tick: Karma Tornado (New England Comics)
Ultraforce (Malibu Comics)
Prime (Malibu Comics)
Prototype (Malibu Comics)
Street Fighter (Malibu Comics)
Man-Eating Cow (New England Comics)
Hardcase (Malibu Comics)
World of Warcraft (DC Comics)
I’ve worked with some fantastic publishers along the way, including Malibu Comics, New England Comics, DC Comics, and Homage Studios. But as much as I loved contributing to those worlds, I wanted more control over my art, which led me to launch my own projects.
My self-published works include:
Shanghai – A full-color, sci-fi adventure comic that was one of the first completely digital art comic books on the market.
Extraterrestrial – A return to my love for comics, tackling themes of space exploration with a personal twist.
Cancer Man & Gout Boy – A quirky and heartfelt take on dealing with life’s unexpected challenges.
The ongoing revival of Shanghai (2018) – Back in action with more stories and art.
This year, I’ve returned to my roots with a renewed focus on traditional media. There’s something about putting ink to paper that no digital tool can replicate, and it’s been a rewarding process of refining my drawing skills and exploring new techniques. You’ll find plenty of that in my recent work, and I’m always pushing myself to get better with every line I draw.
When I’m not at the drawing board, I’m gearing up for conventions, where I sell original art, prints, and my self-published books. If you see me at a show, come say hi—I’d love to talk comics, art, and all things geeky!
